Ephesians 2:1–10 is what I consider my “Salvation Scripture”. Not sure if that’s a thing among Christians but when you get saved at 40 years old I think you get to say a few cheesy things okay. That moment marked the beginning of my new life, and since my “Salvation Birthday” on 5/10/23 (yes another cheesy new Christian thing I do), I’ve been on this journey of co-creating with the Creator. It’s pretty rad.

My pastor recently reminded me of how the Lord is doing His thing in and through me, “a ποίημα for sure” as he said. So I pulled the thread again. Went back to those words.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

The word for workmanship is of course poiēma—God’s work of art. Something made with intention. Something ongoing. And we are to walk in them. We don’t rush it or manufacture it. We step into it. We participate.

That’s Noonday Farms. There are things at work right now that I don’t fully understand, but I can see threads connecting. I’m not building something on my own, I’m coming alongside what God is already doing. I’m walking in them. The work is real and my obedience is necessary. But God, in his infinite wisdom, provides so much freedom when you realize you’re not the sole architect.

I see this pattern on the farm. We show up and do our part. We build the beds, decide what to plant, prepare the soil. But then we work with the soil, with the plants, with each other. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in relationship.

That’s faith: creating space, paying attention, and letting God be the one who brings things to life while we walk alongside Him. Co-creating, step by step, in the work, in the art, He’s already prepared. So what are you co-creating with the Creator? What are you walking into?
